The Solihull-based Energy IT experts recently completed the move, almost doubling the floorspace over the previous offices.

For customers, it remains business as usual, as the firm have moved within the Innovation Centre at Blythe Valley Business Park; all contact details remain the same.

The new premises will allow expansion in the Development, Support and Sales areas, with further jobs being created over the next 6 months.

Simon Piercy, Contigo's Managing Director said: "I'm really pleased we have been able to secure the additional space within the Innovation Centre. The location at Blythe Valley Park is ideal for us, and the move couldn't have been easier. We've got the room we need for our expanding team."

Contigo have added a string of blue-chip Energy clients to their portfolio over the past 12 months, with all three core business areas of Products, Bespoke Development and Support services seeing a growth in revenues.

Michael spent the day with Adrian Bullock before heading off to present at the UK SQL Usergroup in London to talk about the new spatial data concepts in SQL Server 2008.

“The XML capabilities within SQL Server are fairly specialised", said Adrian, "but there are a host of useful scenarios in the energy and utilities market where it makes sense to store XML in the database. Having the capability natively within SQL Server to store and query the XML data makes certain functions much more efficient, and makes data storage more logical than using a traditional relational approach”

Michael went through some of the more advanced features and provided some insight into the inner workings of the XML engine, enabling some significant performance improvements within the Envoy product.

Contigo are pleased to announce the sale of its enVoy Interruption product to Wingas UK.  This will provide Wingas UK with the capability to manage the process around bids for gas interruption, and handle all xoserve data flows related to Interruption Reform.

WINGAS UK Limited is a UK company providing gas and related supply services for customers who resell, convert and use gas for their commercial and industrial business purposes.

2007 also saw significant milestones within the business, including establishment of the support operation and a stronger tie-in with Microsoft through certification as a Microsoft Certified Partner.

Commenting on these figures, Managing Director Simon Piercy said, “2007 has been an excellent year for Contigo; we have seen strong growth in our core software business, and established support and consultancy operations which have also added to revenue. The turnover figures are especially strong, given that we have also invested heavily in product and framework development.”
