overview
enVoy Interruption provides UK Gas Shippers with the capability to manage the process around bids for interruption,
and handle all data flows related to Interruption Reform.
background
Interruption Reform (UNC Modification 0090) starts on 1st April 2008, with the 2008 auction covering
Interruption for the 2011/12 to 2015/16 gas years. Eligible industrial and commercial sites with a consumption
in excess of 5,860,000 kWh (200,000 therms) per annum may be able to bid in for interruption.
bidding
The gas Distribution Networks will determine their interruption requirements for various zones around the UK.
Eligible I&C sites can submit bids which consist of an option and exercise price, an interruption volume and a
number of interruptible days per year. The bids can cover a range of years from one year through to a maximum of
five years. It is also possible to submit more than one bid for any site, with a range of different parameters
and prices; only one bid per site can be accepted for contract.
If the bid is accepted, contract details are prepared. The yearly option price is paid regardless of any
interruption used, and the exercise price will be paid for each day of interruption.
auction process
The auction process is managed by xoserve, the gas supply point administrator. Auctions will be held annually
from April to July each year; under certain circumstances there can also be ad-hoc auctions requested outside the
normal yearly regime.
It is the responsibility of the shipper to submit bids to xoserve on behalf of their I&C sites. Bid submission and
management is controlled via a series of interface files.
how it works
enVoy interruption supports the interruption business process via an easy-to-use management application. This system
enables shippers to record details of their sites and customers, identifies eligible sites and allows interruptible
bids to be formulated. In addition, the software also controls all the files to and from xoserve, handling the
submission and validation of all shipper files.
With only ten days for shippers to submit their bid requirements, enVoy provides the ideal solution to ensure
bids are recorded and processed accurately.
