enVision is the primary reporting and business intelligence interface for all Contigo
applications. It provides a user-customisable interface to extract and analyse data
from numerous data sources – both Contigo and third party applications.
enVision is built upon SQL Server 2005 and related tools – Integration Services (SSIS),
Analysis Services (SSAS) and Reporting Services (SSRS). It includes specific data warehousing
and integration facilities to enable data from a variety of sources to be integrated and
reported upon. The Microsoft Business Intelligence architecture is shown below.
enVision allows an administrator to create OLAP cubes within the database that are then
accessible via the enVision interface. It can also integrate data from spreadsheets and
flat files.
Powerful analytical capabilities are available through a combination of Relation OLAP
(ROLAP), Multidimensional OLAP (MOLAP), or the Hybrid OLAP (HOLAP) approach.
enVision is centred around the User Dashboard. This is a configurable page that is made
up of a set of web parts. Each web part can show the result of a report, a graph, a KPI
indicator or any one of a number of available web parts for displaying application or external
data. New web parts can be created for other data sources, such as third party applications
or internet sources such as web services, RSS news feeds or weather reports. Web parts
are dynamic and can update in real-time or on request.
enVision enables a consolidated, cross-commodity view of an organisation’s data to be
viewed through a simple, consistent, manageable and secure interface.
